LITERATURE NIGHT 2011

The presentation and reading of an extract from the Italian edition of the book Sedmikosteli by Miloš Urban will take place in the presence of the author himself as well as some of the foremost Italian-Czech translators and scholars. A group of drama students will join the evening as well in order to enhance the reading experience with artistic poise. We also want to use internet social networks for the promotion of this event with the aim of developing passion for reading of ‘foreign’ literature in young readers. The presentation will be accompanied by an exhibition Czech Literature in Translation (1998-2010), which illustrates the long-term support for translating from the side of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the Czech Republic.
