The intertwined stories of several mostly underpriviledged characters, who live in tiny flats form a piece of puzzle the result of which is portrait of the Soviet everyday reality of the early 1980s. On the background of the upcoming historical changes the big and small tragedies are portrayed and the sense of absurdity is softened by compassion.
