This year’s Literature Night in Berlin aims to present Czech literature in a rather different way. Diverting from the readings of classical authors, , the Czechs living in Berlin will introduce and present their favourite texts (participators are in some way involved in the presentation of the Czech culture). Berlin Literature Night would like to evade academic debates, yet it hopes to bring up a debate. Literature Night hopes to demonstrate that Czech literature is not by any means ‘outdated and unpopular’, but to the contrary, is still alive and talks to its readers. Personal attitude of the interpreters to their chosen text can show new faces of the Czech literature, which is not to be lost even in the today’s cosmopolitan world.
