Jiří Kratochvil is a Czech novelist, playwright and journalist. After graduating from the secondary school (1958) he studied the Philosophy Faculty of the Charles University, Prague, graduating in 1963. Later he worked as an archivist and teacher, becoming a writer after 1970 while doing manual jobs. He became a professional writer in 1989.

Jiří Mucha – is a Czech novelist, journalist and playwright. Jiří Mucha is a son of the renowned Czech painter and graphic designer Alfons Mucha. He spent his childhood and youth alternating between home and abroad. He graduated from a secondary school in Prague in 1934, went to study medicine at a university in Prague and later at the Sorbonne in Paris. He also studied the art history and Oriental studies. A presentation of the work of an author yet unpublished in Italy (translated by Tiziana Menotti).
