PERIFERNÍ CENTRUM is a Slovakian Civic Association, which aims at bringing the art and culture to the places out of reach of the mainstream cultural and economical centres by mutual interaction and experience exchange with local people, and to enrich people as well as artists. In cooperation with the municipal office of the village of Doubravice the association runs a creative production centre, creates landscape gallery and organises various events to stimulate creativity in the locality. City Theatre – Divadlo z Pasáže

Divadlo z Pasáže is a professional community theatre and the only one, that works with disabled people in Slovakia. Its activities have supported the cultural, artistic and social area in Bánska Bystrica since 1995. The theatre has undergone a development profiling thus its professional artistic ensemble consisting of actors with various disabilities. Apart from the artistic message the performances also have a deep humanity meaning. It is a community theatre for people who need real support, a form of theatre for the repressed ones. It was founded to help fight the oppression of the weaker and sensitive and to change the society, which causes such oppression.

National Scientific Library

The National Science Library in Banská Bystrica is a national cultural and science-information institution focusing on literature, bibliography, research, education, publishing and cultural-educative activities. The Literary and Music Museum has been its part since 2001; which added other activities to the library - professional literature and musical museum.

Zahrada – Centre of Independent Culture

The Theatre aims to become a new cultural platform, which will enable the presentation of the current art as an equal part of the cultural happening, and also to provide space for young artists from various areas of art. The dramaturgy of the theatre produces works of individual genres and also organises educative activities; workshops for the artists as well as for the public.

Zahrada (Garden) – Centre of Independent Culture

Zahrada – is a non-profit organisation founded in 2005 originally as Divadlo z Pasáže receiving its current name after moving into new premises in the garden of Beniczka pasáž in 2010. Currently it runs premises in the centre of Banská Bystrica and serves as a multifunctional theatre studio with a year-round dramaturgy as well as a relax zone – with a public park and opportunities to organize outdoor cultural events.
